JOIN IN THE FUN!
All are welcome at general membership meetings, Club functions and shows. Come and check out the Kitsap Saddle Club in action. If you decide to join, download the  membership application and send it in!  The KSC annual dues include Washington State Horsemen dues.

REMINDER: Current members must renew their memberships by the February general meeting to remain on the active member roster.



Proposed by-law amendment -- will be voted on July 2, 2008

Article III, Section 8 currently reads:
8. A grievance may be filed against any member for actions in violation of club by-laws or standing rules.
     a. The member(s) bringing charges shall state their concern or charges in writing and attend next board meeting at which time said charges shall be considered in closed session by the board.

Change to read:
8. A grievance may be fild against any member for actions in violation of club by-laws or standing rules.
     a. The member(s) bringing charges shall state their concern or charges in writing and attend next board meeting at which time said charges shall be considered in closed session by the board. Said letter will be accompanied by a $50 Grievance Fee. Grievance Fee may or may not be refunded to member bringing the charge. Refund will be at the discretion of the Board of Directors and said decision will not be subject to appeal.

Please note the following changes have been made to the by-laws effective June 2008:



4. Prospective member/s must present a completed membership form and payment of membership fees, in full, to the Membership Chairperson at time of application. Applicants will be introduced by the Membership Chair to the membership and applicant/s name/s will be published in the Club newsletter at time of the submitted application.

a. Applications will be brought before the Board of Trustees for review.
b. Dues will be held by the Treasurer until completion of the application process.
c. If the application is approved, applicant will be sworn in at a meeting and receive a complete set of by laws and standing rules.
d. In the event the application is rejected, the Membership Chairperson shall immediately notify the applicant and all dues shall be refunded.

3. All board/General meeting business shall be conducted under the guidance of the President and governed by standard parliamentary procedure.

Article VI Duties of Chairpersons in Charge of Standing Committees, Section 6:

6. The duties of the Publicity and Historian chairperson shall be:

  1. To furnish newspapers with all the publicity concerning the Club’s activities.
  2. To insure that, with the aid of al members, everything possible is done to form favorable public relations.
  3. To maintain the history of the Club in the form of a scrapbook and/or photo album and to make it available at the clubhouse.
  4. To publish the monthly Club newsletter “THE HOOFBEATS”.
  5. To maintain a copy of the Hoofbeats in the clubhouse files.
  1. To keep the Club’s website www.thekitsapsaddleclub.org up to date with Club event dates, board contact information, current newsletter and by-laws and other information of interest to the members.
